Waterloo Community Centre

 Where Our Community Connects!

Waterloo Community Association (WCA) was established in 2006 by a group of Waterloo residents who wanted to develop a hub of activity and support in the Waterloo and Seaforth area. It is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee.

WCA acquired the old St Thomas church hall which was formerly one of the first schools in the area opened in 1842. Following its acquisition, the building was entrusted to WCA and became The Waterloo Community Centre. The building is listed and situated in a designated heritage area with Old Christ Church to the rear, Waterloo Town Hall opposite and various other historic places of interest close by.

The Mersey coastline is within a five minute walk featuring the Waterloo gardens, Waterloo & Crosby coastal park and marina area, lakeside, beach and sand dunes.

The community is centre benefits from being a mere two minute walk from Waterloo Rail station on the Merseyrail northern line and bus terminus on South Road. There is also ample parking on Great Georges Road and a small car park for approx 3/4 vehicles.

Waterloo Community Centre is at the heart of the Waterloo residential community, close to schools, workplaces, and a busy shopping area.

Essentially, the community centre is for everyone living and working in the area and beyond. It is a multi-purpose, spacious, safe and secure environment for all ages, needs and requirements.

Any person or any group of people can hire the centre rooms and spaces and use it for activities either long term or for a one off event.

All hire fees fund the upkeep of the centre, enable free or donation only activities and our weekly community meal. WCA employs two staff members to manage, develop and maintain the centre, projects and premises .
